LANGARA COLLEGE THERAPEUTIC YOGA FOR PAIN MANAGEMENT

Research has pointed to the efficacy of Yoga as a complimentary therapeutic intervention for many chronic pain conditions. This new 80-hour certificate program is designed to bridge the chasm between modern pain science and yoga in an academic setting. It was developed specifically for Yoga teachers and healthcare providers to advance their knowledge in the field of pain management through the application of Yoga techniques, philosophies and practices. Students will learn to teach restorative yoga, therapeutic breathing, and mindfulness based stress reduction techniques for pain management to groups and individuals. Students will also the physical and psychological influences of pain.

  4. Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) for Chronic Pain

  7. In-class Professional Practice

SCHEDULE:
Program is part-time (80-hours) and begins in September 2017

Weekends: Sept. 16/17/30, Oct. 1/14/15, Nov. 25/26 (9:00 – 5:00pm)
Evenings: Sept. 15/29, Oct.13/25; Nov.15/24 (6:00 – 9:00pm)
